Social Mood Conference | Socionomics Foundation

It’s not unusual that the Dalai Lama would condemn religiously driven violence, as happened last week in Myanmar and Sri Lanka. What is unusual, however, is that the violence is being committed by Buddhist groups against Muslim businesses. The Nobel Peace laureate Dalai Lama has had enough, stating,  “Nowadays even Buddhists are involved, in Burma and Sri Lanka also. Buddhist monks … destroy Muslim mosques or Muslim families. Really very sad.” But different religions have battled each other for millennia, all the time, haven’t they? Or is there more to the timing of such incidents?  For more on violence and religion, click here.
