Vladimir Putin, in comments that are likely unwelcome in the Obama White House, recently defended U.S. policies like the NSA spying program, the use of predator drones, and police response to Occupy Wall Street. According to Putin: “That’s the way it’s done in the U.S., and that’s the way it’s done in Russia.” Putin then defended the policies, saying they were becoming “global in the context of combating international terrorism, and such methods are generally practicable.” Putin also defended drone usage, saying “I’m sure the U.S. does not target civilians on purpose.”
