A cyber security expert says that if the US attacks Syria, it can expect more hacking attacks like those against The New York Times, The Huffington Post and Twitter. The Times’ website was down for much of August 27 and part of the following day. An August 28 article in the Los Angeles Times identified the hackers as the “Syrian Electronic Army,” which wants to “keep people from reading what it views as negative information about the regime of President Bashar Assad.”
