sugar-wikiAn October 29 article in The Week says artificial sweeteners such as saccharin, sucralose and aspartame may induce hyperglycemia, or glucose intolerance—the very illness they are supposed to prevent. You could switch to sugar, but it also receives a lot of bad press—especially around Halloween. An October 28 article in The Wall Street Journal tells moms and dads how to use the “Switch Witch,” an invented character who takes children’s Halloween candy while they’re sleeping and leaves a gift in its place.
