A leaked customer database shows how much the hacking group Lizard Squad charges to launch a distributed-denial-of-service (DDoS) attack. Over Christmas, Lizard Squad brought down the Xbox and PlayStation gaming networks. The group’s fees range from $6 to $500 in bitcoin cryptocurrency for a DDoS attack, according to a January 20 article in International Business Times. The attacks overwhelm websites with Web traffic, thereby knocking them offline.
