Spyware has been discovered in hard drives sold by top American companies. Known as “Equation,” the spyware was identified by Russian software maker Kaspersky Lab. A February 17 article in International Business Times says the spyware was used to monitor computer activities in Iran, Russia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, China, and other countries. The list of targets “leaves little doubt” that the spyware will eventually be tied to the NSA, the article says.
