In 2009, Atlanta Public School educators, facing pressure from supervisors, fabricated student answers on state-administered standardized tests. The fallout was widespread, and to date, it is the largest cheating scandal to hit the US education system. Many of the 35 indicted educators took plea agreements with prosecutors, and, on April 1st of this year, a grand jury convicted 11 of them on racketeering charges.
