A complaint has been filed in Germany’s constitutional court on behalf of all the country’s male piglets. It says Germany’s government is infringing on the animals’ rights by allowing castration, which is not completely pain-free even with anesthesia. The complaint comes on the heels of a U.S. lawsuit in which a horse sued its former owner for negligence and sought thousands of dollars in damages.

Meanwhile, in the political world, openly gay mayor Pete Buttigieg has become one of the leading Democratic candidates for president. In May, 76% of respondents in a Gallup poll said they would vote for a gay candidate—three times more than in 1978.

On November 19, during this year’s celebration of International Men’s Day, the American Civil Liberties Union said on Twitter that there’s “no one way to be a man. Men who get their periods are men. Men who get pregnant and give birth are men. Trans and non-binary men belong.”

The September 1992 issue of The Elliott Wave Theorist said that bull markets are accompanied by an increase in the size of people’s unit of allegiance, which can grow to include others unlike themselves. During such times, animals may be given rights formerly enjoyed by humans. Even mythical aliens, as was the case with Star Trek, may be included in the brotherhood of the universe.
