Social Mood Conference | Socionomics Foundation

The stock market has swooned this year, but signs of positive mood linger. For instance, consider the persistence in the trend toward inclusion.

During a recent training session at the Air Force Academy in Colorado, Cadets were told to use words that “include all genders” and to replace “mom” and “dad” with “parent” or “caregiver.” Fox News said other word replacements included “partner” instead of “boyfriend” or “girlfriend” and “folks” instead of “you guys.”

Might this trend change? Yes, if social mood becomes decidedly negative.
