The funding bill’s 8-figure consideration
The funding bill is on its way to the House, bringing the longest government shutdown in U.S. history one step closer to a possible end. The proposed bill included at least one conspicuous addition:
The bill boosts security spending for Congress, the Supreme Court and the U.S. court system by $88 million, responding to an increase in political violence.
Violence which Americans apparently increasingly condone. From NPR, Oct. 1: “Three in 10 adults” say violence is necessary to “get the country back on track.”
