On Dec. 18., President Donald Trump signed an executive order to reclassify cannabis from a Schedule 1 narcotic to a Schedule III drug. The BBC, Dec. 18 said “the long-anticipated move would mark the most significant shift in US drug policy in decades.”

In July 2009, our issue of the Socionomist laid the way for “the coming collapse of modern prohibition” and predicted a similar fate for marijuana as the early 20th century’s legalization of alcohol.
