Barely-there women’s wear suggests social mood has reached new extremes
Naked dressing is here—and no, we’re not talking about eating salad, plain. This is the line of “barely-there gowns” worn by female celebrities on the 2025-6 awards circuit, like this sheer gown on actress Jennifer Lawrence at the Golden Globes:
The New York Times, March 11 also noted how one “transparent” outfit at the Grammy’s “may have inspired the organizers of the Cannes Film Festival to issue a [toothless] ban on naked dressing.”
